NASCAR Asphalt RaceTrack

Description
This Track was based off of the shortest Official Nascar course, Martinsville Speedway, a short and high-banked 1/2 mile course. Also known as the "Paperclip", this track has been hosting stock car races since 1947.

The best car to use on this track would have to be the Fishtail Racer by Bushido, as it is plenty fast to handle the high-banked turns, although some braking is required.

The track is currently 50% Complete

Upon completion, the save will be posted here

What's to be added?
  • Grandstands - not huge concourses or anything, just a couple layers for show
  • Catch-Fence - just a small fence overlooking the track to catch cars that wreck into it
  • Pit-Road - a 2-lane road with pits on the left, I can picture about 10 pit-stalls in this build comfortably if each is a 16x16

It'd probably be better if it was larger.

why fishtail racers

also track is really crappy, the nascar oval doesn't need terrain bricks and this is poorly constructed.

That's what she said... :D

... but yeah, I thought Nascar ovals were 1 - 2 miles. This one looks too small.

Martinsville is a 1/2 mile track. It is a regulation circuit that is visited twice every year like all the others, I keep up with NASCAR...I only watch like 4 sports, and NASCAR is probably my favorite, considering I'm into mechanical engineering and thinking of being an auto technician in a NSC Garage...

It'd probably be better if it was larger.
I'm planning on making the dark gray parts wider and the turns more lengthy. If Ephi would actually fix his stuff (this time, duplicator), this project would go a lot faster.

The Fishtail Racer is the best candidate due to the size of this regulation NASCAR Speedway.

Try making a better one without the terrain bricks, still have gradual 2-tier banking in the turns, and function better than the terrain bricks. Have fun with your bumpy ramps. Making this track bigger will make it better. Also:
The track is currently 60% Complete

I plan on adding Grandstands, but mostly just for show. I'm going to lower the outside wall and place a catch-fence that overlooks the track. Actually, I might change that 60% to around 40%, I'm coming up with more and more ideas...

I think someone needs to get together a team to construct the Nurburgring, it'll take forever, but it'll be fun to race on it.

I'm not really into foreign tracks that much :x

Furthest I watch is like Indy, which still comes to America for oval tracks.

so you'll only make ovals? :)

What's wrong with that lol-

Actually, Nascar does visit places like Sonoma (actually this weekend!), Watkins Glen, and Road America (Nationwide Series)

I might make an asphalt course of my own design, however; not based off of a real course this time :)

thats bullstuff nascar drivers cant turn to the right

Uhhh, Watkins Glen, Road America, and Sonoma are all Road Courses.

Plus, who can complain when you're going 195+ MPH?

racerboy, the course is an eyesore.
face it
its using terrain bricks in a situation where they really shouldn't be used, its way too small, and it has no color / detail at all.
its simply an excuse to use terrainbricks.

id like to see the cars as a addon

I find it quite fun to drive around on, and considering I'm not done...

I actually admit it, it does look very plain, but you dont know the ideas that I have for it, I'm picturing most of it in my head. It's the first time I ever messed with the Terrain Bricks, lay off. If you would learn to loving read, you would see that I plan on making not only the width of the straightaways (dark gray if you're that much of a dumbass) bigger, but also making the radius of the turn bigger to allow for a smoother recovery time from the slight inevitable bumps. I also plan to add a pit road in the infield where you can refuel. I didn't really know how vehicles would react to the terrain bricks, and it turned into a little project for me.

Plus, I think it will look good with the grandstands and catch fence ;)

They are...search vehicle_fishtail.zip on google or something.

What?  lol.
