Connecting to IP still didn't work.

Okay, I'll reset the server now and see if it works. I'll have to change the map and load the save later. If someone thinks they have a more receive copy of the save let me know.

Wedge, perhaps you should remove the doors for now.
I do not want to release them until the issues with .setDataBlock(); are resolved in an update.

Also, I'm in the server, and I'm all alone. And it's on Bedroom. What map are we using?

I've reloaded the save, it's a pretty recent version. Everything appears to be fine.

Well I'd like to keep running them, so I'll just release broken saves instead. They'll work at some point in the future. :cookieMonster:

Theme voting for next week is open.

if fast food universe doesn't win im going to kill myself on stickam

the land of giant boobies!!!

nope, fast food :cookieMonster:

Wedge, the next time your server has that error, run this in console:
echo(getSimTime());

then, a few seconds later, do it again.

if the time returned is the same time, your server... froze.
I've never seen any complaints about this in help, but it's happened to my server, pecons server, probably glass's server. I don't know what causes it, but I do know what they all have in common...

Wedge you need to get the ownership wand. I'm sick of people refusing to cover up their holes in the cave.
That Phobius guy told me no 3 times when I tried to get him to do it. Made things way harder than it needed be.

I had the ownership wand on the server when I first started it. It broke the duplicator so I removed it.

Looks like brick ownership got messed up again over the server reset. If you need build trust or some blocks destroyed let me know.

Okay well we ran a test server tonight on my VPS and it worked pretty well at low player counts but I've figured out that if I'm going to run a server with 32 players I'm going to need at least 512MB of RAM, which I can't afford from the current VPS I'm using. Right now it looks like the extra features I get out of running my own VPS currently don't outweigh the performance and cost of existing dedicated services on this forum. I'll be running the rest of the one month lease on a VPS out hosting a voice chat and a small private blockland server, but I currently don't plan on renewing.

Just for the benefit of everyone else, a dedicated server uses about 120MB of RAM with no players and you can comfortably run an 8 player server in as little as 384MB of RAM. So before you throw out your old piece of stuff laptop (old XP laptops will still have around 768MB-1GB of RAM), consider installing windows server 2003 on it (free off dreamspark, and it happily runs in as little as 128MB of RAM) and boom, you'll have your own dedicated server you can run at your home for free. You'll still have to deal with the issues of having a residential connection, but it beats running a local server.

This weekend we will be rehosting the Ancient World build.

If my Poweredge 1550 can run four BL servers at 32 players each at that logic, I don't think I'll pay for hosting anymore.
