To me, of what seems is wrong with what Nickelbob Ultra is saying is that furries/ponies (I'm a furry) should be removed fandom's.  It's almost like saying being homoloveual should've stayed illegal.

Homoloveuality is a bad comparison. A good comparison would be someone with a vore special interest who almost always has vore in their avatar, their signature, posts about it on forums, and draws vore irl. At least I think that's a pretty good comparison. The loveuality comparison doesn't really make sense since homoloveual people aren't very typical in any way.

To reiterate my point, my avatar is from Civilization 5.  It's a video game.

If I was running around, freely preaching about it whenever I could and using it to "define myself" and identify myself with others based on a video game, I would be the target of my own argument.
