If you have to apply for a clan/server/etc it gives value to being a member.

For example would you rather build with sombody from ARES(or whatever clan is difficult to get into) or from some clan that takes anybody?

Edit: you mean servers, I thought you meant clans where you build on their server to apply to that clan.
