Fantasy from the 20th century - Much better than the garbage we get today

I've noticed, after having read Lord of the Rings and having received the first book in the Riftwar Saga (see below), that fantasy from this era (particularly the '70s-'90s) is much better than what's out today.


This was the book I received. I plan to read it when I finish the Divine Comedy, and then read the rest of the Riftwar Cycle. It'll certainly be an adventure.
