What bird was this?

I was going to target and there was a bird in the parking lot that I didn't recognize. It had brown all over its back, and then white on its front with 2 or 3 thick black stripes. It was about the size of a robin, but its legs were slightly longer. So what the heck kind of bird is this?

It was just standing on the ground and the car was moving so I didn't get to look at it very good. :s
