Author Topic: How do you export .dts in Blender 2.61?  (Read 1177 times)

I know the exporter doesn't work for 2.61, I'm talking about compatibility

Okay, I was wondering if it's possible to open Blender 2.61 files in Blender 2.49
When I tried to last time and I exported it as a .dts it would crash upon loading the model in Blockland

How do I make my model into a .dts?

Yes.
But I think you have to save it as 2.49 before you can export it.

Yes.

how

Open the 2.61 file in 2.49, despite the warning.
Go to file-->Save as-->folder directory.

Also, if there are animations in 2.61, then you have to re-animate in 2.49, plus remove all the previous glitched animations as a result of the shift of programs.

It's either that, or your python code is screwed up.

It crashes when loaded again

Re: How do you export .dts in Blender 2.61?:
Step 1:Save your model.

Step 2:Download Blender 2.49 from http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.49b/

Step 3:Download the DTS Exporter for blender here
http://www.blockland.us/Download.html

Step 4:Patch the DTS Exporter

Step 5:Open your model in blender 2.49b

Step 6:Save,test,edit,and than upload your model.

1. That's the old version of the exporter. Demian has a blender help topic which has the exporter with the python already installed.

It crashes when loaded again
2. Take it to this thread or send a message to demian.
This isn't looking good for either of us.
Did you-
-Parent all bones to the empty known as detail32 and parent detail32 to the empty shape?
-Make sure bones that have other bones as children are parented to detail32?
-Remove/fix all animations?
-and did you export using triangle strips and made sure to delete the camera and light in the scene before you exported.

I forgot to do detail32 and shape
I think that should work, thanks!

What is it with the recent influx of "How to export to DTS in Blender 2.6x?". I swear I've seen like 5 of them in a month. Just accept it people, you can only export to DTS in MilkShape and Blender 2.49b.

There are a lot of other factors which may make a model crash.

While takato said he was able to export fine with the 64bit version of Blender, it produced a messy .dts for some other people (including me) which crashed Blockland.

For wheeled vehicles, a crash may happen because the wheel hubs and the collision mesh are on the same layer.

And also, what Demian said.
