Author Topic: [Assistance] - Need Wallpapers for Blockster  (Read 1395 times)

For Blockster, I am in need of a bunch of good screenshots in Blockland. If you PM me a screenshot that is large enough, and in good enough quality, you will see your screenshot on Blockster.

FAQ
Q) Why can't you take them?
   A) My screen isn't big enough, and I want a variety of looks.

Q) How will I know if my screenshot was accepted?
   A) You'll get a PM from me, or another Jeepserver Rep.

Q) Will I get credit?
   A) Yes. The best photo will also receive a special prize.

Q) But I don't even use Blockster!
   A) So? A bunch of people use it, and your screenshot will be seen by all of them.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
Guess I can't participate.

megashot.

If you don't have the option with 1600x1200 go to fullscreen (non-window mode) and then view resolutions. It might display it then.

you can't go to a resolution on an application that's over your screen's resolution, silly head

sadly, 1680x1050 is my max resolution also :(

megashot exists though, so that's good

A little known, undocumented feature of Blockland is the mega shot.  This feature allows you to effectively use multiple screenshots to automatically create a single high resolution shot - much higher than could actually be rendered by your video card.  To use it simply set $megashotScaleFactor in the console and then take DOF screenshot (ctrl + shift + P)

For example $megashotScaleFactor = 2; makes double-size screenshots, $megashotScaleFactor = 4; quadruple, etc.

Be aware that depending on your hardware it could take a long time to take these.  If you take a screenshot that is larger than 2048 pixels on a side, it will not show up in the main menu preview slideshow.  Mip maps are still enabled based on screen resolution so it far away textures may appear blurry in the mega shots.

The cool part about these shots is that you can later crop and re-sample them down to a lower size in your favorite image editor and end up with super crisp screenshots even if you have crappy video hardware.  Example attached:

Obviously.

But what I'm saying is that 1600 x 1200 or higher may not appear in windowed mode in which case turn on fullscreen.

what i'm saying is that if your maximum resolution is lower than that you can't use it lol

Lowered Resolution to 1050, since that seems to be common.

Took a nice 1920x1080 screenshot with anti-aliasing.

Should I have made it DOF?

Could you PM me a DOF Version? That looks nice, though.

PM'd you some pictures.

I can't help. The highest res I can go is 1600 900. :(

I have another PC with a screen res of 1920x1080p...but the graphics card is a GeForce GT 220. It gets the job done for BL though.
