Author Topic: Blockland and my C.P.U.  (Read 1755 times)

They aren't buddies, that's for sure.

I've been playing Blockland for about 3-4 years now, and I've just gotten used to the fact that Blockland is apparently resource intensive, but I never really understood why. The thing is, it will often throw my C.P.U. to 90-100% capacity. I do understand that unless my computer shuts down, this shouldn't be a problem. But why is it like this anyways?

Its not like Blockland is Crysis or something. Blockland doesn't have dynamic shading, amazing physics, or some out-of-this-world game engine. Its just Blockland. So why is this happening?

Since its important, here are my specs:
Macbook Pro Late 2010:
O.S: Mac OS X 10.7.4 Lion (Upgraded from Snow Leopard, BIG MISTAKE)
Size: 13 Inch
CPU: Intel 2.4 GHz Processor
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 320M with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory
R.A.M: 4GB (two 2GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 memory

P.S: Also, I was having a problem with Flash Player, and it was making flash videos, and youtube do about the same to my computer. After uninstalling it completely, this went away, and I can still watch youtube, but I can't use flash. If anyone has any clues to why this happens, or how to fix it, please let me know.

P.S.S: Please don't post "Macs suck and ur lame cuz pc way bettur den dat shiz" Or anything like that.

P.S.S.S: I also can't enter fullscreen mode, it just makes the window disappear. Upon restarting, its in fullscreen, but then I can't put it at 1280x800 (My fullscreen Resolution)

Your computer specs are really bad in the first place, so it's not a problem with Blockland...

Those specs aren't bad. Those should be able to run most games just fine. Anyways, its a laptop.

yeah, BL does this for me too.
intel core 2 duo E8400 @ 3GHz

not sure why that is.

I have a desktop Core i5 and Norton comss up saying high CPU usage by blockland.exe

Its pretty normal for almost all games to do that, even blockland. And your graphics card isnt that great, only 256mb of ram on it. I am also guessing the mac version may not be 100% optimized....although it ran fine on a 15 inch 2011 mac book pro.

"Blockland and my C.P..."

No, I don't recommend putting your child research in Blockland.
Anyway, how many cores?

Fyi Tyler, Blockland's CPU usage can be affected by add-ons. You might have a mod that is very CPU intensive.

Also, stop saying that his hardware isn't good. It's an average computer (around where mine is) and should run Blockland perfectly.

It's a standard 2.4 Ghz Dual Core Processor.
I give you all of my lol's. :P

I have Block OS 6 (Latest Realese) and RTB 4.1 (Latest Realese)
I also have every single vehicle on the forumswhich is pretty nice, but I suppose that could be part of the problem.
Also: It just goes into full C.P.U. mode even on the startup menu.

Try running without any add-ons installed (To do this, just rename your Add-Ons folder to something else) and then try again.

I wish there were a little development for derendering what isn't necessary.

Are you trying to be funny or something? Gtfo

For some reason fullscreen does not work very well on Mac's, at least it doesn't work for you and me.

Your computer shouldn't be at 100% CPU usage. I have a 2.53GHz processor and I've never had any problems between it and Blockland. Are there other applications running in the background?

Does you laptop overheat? That would cause it to shutdown.
