I got a computer from my aunt that she got from a friend and I don't have the password for the user, and I was wondering if its possible to access the user, and delete it without having to reformat the hard drive.
I don't have. the OS CD, or anything for it.

how about you ask your aunt's friend about it.

Find some kind of hack-y thing-y on the internet.

It's either tap F8 or F11 during bootup and you can access the users etc.

or this: http://www.technibble.com/bypass-windows-logons-utilman/

but only if you have a recovery disk.

you could also use Puppy Linux to copy utilman to backup then move cmd.exe, that would probably work.

i can't remember if XP allows for this though...

Well, she passed away, so I can't do that.

Also I have no access to internet accept this cell phone I'm p
 osting with.

Just use Kon Boot, like Lugnu---

We can't help you.

no, normally when pressing f8 will make your computer startup with safe mode on.

Would it be possible with an OS disc?

Since you have XP, the Administrator account is unlocked (and typically unpassworded) when you boot in Safe Mode.
Just bash the F8 key when the computer's starting.

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me, hope this works, I really don't want to waste money on an OS disc.

Or you could just use Kon Boot if that doesn't work...

i'm surprised nobody said that he stole the computer
