This. And the garage roof looks odd because it slopes down toward the house which makes look like it is detached. If the garage had a lighter slope and went up into the house it might look better.

The frontal half of the roof will express the look you said, the back half will have a lighter slope into the house.
Because I kinda wanted it to be a bit separate from the house, but not too much.
