In my time away from the lovely blue of the blockland forums, I decided that i would try my hand at making playthroughs of any game I really felt like playing. It's starting off rather slow and i haven't uploaded anything in a while but i do have about five episodes worth of Doom 3 ready to be cut and uploaded.
A brief little warning though, my humor is rather dry and scathing at points.

anyway i got 5 minutes in to your first battlefield one and then closed it. too boring, not funny, not interesting - you have to have something to offer a viewer besides a video of you casually playing a game. i wouldn't have even called it a commentary because it was too casual. i don't want to feel like i've been at a lan with you and you've been up for 12 hours, i want to be entertained

So I was boring, alright. What might I do to make it a little more bearable? I watched these with Skip last night and have to agree that these videos so far are a little worse than cat stuff.

You should talk a little more though. Well a lot more.

How much more? When recording you feel like you should talk but you don't want to talk over the good parts or talk too much. It's a fine line that's very hard to see.

First, it's a good thing to alert the house that you will be recording
This will allow you to not feel weird talking to youself or screaming
Then just live up! Drink coffee or soda, or anything to stimulate you, then drink tea so your voice is all fine.

All of these were recorded in my old room where I had much less privacy, in my Doom 3 videos(about to be uploaded in maybe a few days) you can here my scream, cry, whimper, and make bad one-liners a lot more.

 As for the drinks before, that sounds like a fine idea. Thanks for the tips.

let's plays can get boring really quickly depending on what you're playing. You could either play a shorter, thought provoking game that sparks a lot of self-conversation or you could make like criken and use video editing to make videos a bit more lively.

and simply having someone to discuss the game with can make that big difference to humour/entertainment.
take for example, retsupurae. Their comedic exchanges bring out humour in the dullest of moments
take for example, "terrible sequel headaches" although I can admit I couldn't bear most of it, their wit got me through most of it

Considering I told everyone who I was in my second or  third post, you're an imbecile.
In fact, if you had even looked through my posts you would have seen I have posted in the MLP thread two or three times and none of them are stuffstorm worthy.
