PCs are hilariously expensive compared to a game console

the wii was meant to be very cheap.

but the others released at $600
a $600 prebuilt gaming computer is already twice as good as they were. and consoles age very very quickly.

also the piracy argument is moot.
publishers lose more money on console game trade-ins at the game stores then they do on pc pirating

Oh great... FTP crap. All FTP games are doomed to be horrid with pay for premium content
oh no they want ME to give THEM money for THEIR work?!
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS

also i agree with bisjac on the fact that the future of gaming is all direct downloads

PC gaming is dying.

PCs are hilariously expensive compared to a game console, and require more maintenance in exchange for more computational and graphical power. We're getting to the point were the difference between a PC and a console is getting so small that only hardcore gaming enthusiasts will buy a PC, soon afterwards PCs will become significantly less common.

The same thing will also happen to consoles as even smaller devices are capable of the same technology, and continue to act in this trend until the small size will actually hurt the machine's ability to perform.

sounds like something a casual scrub would say

"smaller devices" will never ever compare to what the pc and consoles can do lol.

if they could, then a desktop pc would be the size of a phone...
size really does matter and always will.

Wii u is going to be great, I know it. It's going to be the cheaper of the next gen consoles while still having amazing graphics.

Sony and Microsoft are going to bring out their consoles to combat the wii u and they're going to be very expensive, where as the wii u just has better games.

I rarely have to replace parts in a computer. If anything I'm just vacuuming it out. Plus you can build a computer at a much cheaper price than a prebuilt. If you lack the knowledge of building a computer you could go to costco or something and buy a prebuilt for around 1,000 bucks and just stick a decent graphics card in there.

I must agree as well. Saddly the era of the disc is pretty much at its end. Direct downloads are convient because of how you can instantly buy the game you desire and download/install it. Saddly you are limited by your internet connection and if your internet goes out you cannot play it, even if its a single player game. Another downside is that companies have taken another step and have basically  said that you are just renting the game forever until you die. So you think that you fully own it, but in reality the company tries to take over your computer.

The Wii U will turn out to be expensive anyway.
Besides, few publishers ever publish anything for Nintendo consoles. It's all Xbox, PS3 and PC.
Nintendo has to release its own games for its platforms, like it normally does.

nintendos only 8 games it re-releases every 3 years for the last 20 years

plus who could think pc gaming is dieing anyway? its got like +100,000% more exclusive games then all other systems combined.

I agree, the Wii U is no different from something like a 360 elite.
It's just a later update to current gen consoles.

PCs are generally more expensive because they use better components. Also, They aren't hard to maintain. And they last longer. While your out buying a whole new "Xbox 720" or whatever, I'll be buying better components for my compy, for substantially less.

Not to mention only a few new parts can blow the newest console out of the water.

Am I the only one who actually likes laying down on a couch/bed and relaxing while playing a game with a controller?
