Author Topic: Textures replacing themselves?  (Read 842 times)

So just a little bit ago I downloaded some different brick textures, put them in the right place 'n all, but when I looked at em in  BL they were still the default ones. So I quit out and somehow the default ones were back in the shapes folder and replaced the new ones I put in there when I started BL.

any ideas why?

because blockland launcher. are you hosting your server? did your make the read only, or did you use zack0wack0's thing?

I am hosting, that second part didn't make any sense. I'm using these: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=147911.0

are the texture files read only? the blockland launcher patches all default files every startup, that's why textures broke in v21.

I wouldn't think so, I just copied them from the .zip and pasted them in the shapes file.

no modify button :P

anyway a guy used em in a build like 3 days ago so in theory they should work

You have 2 possibilities:
The one that is fast:
1. Make the files read-only so the launcher cannot overwrite them

The one that people think it is safer than the other, but it isn't:
2. Load the add-on 'User Content Alpha', install and use it (The more complicated way)

Please leave if you dont know how to help the poster. So you are saying the textures dont work? Try another texture by the same Author if they have another one and see if that one works

Right click all of the images of the new brick textures.
Click Properties.
You will see two check boxes next to a button named 'Advanced'  One will be named Read Only.
Check that box.
Click apply, you are done.
