Author Topic: Your internet footprint  (Read 1256 times)

Y'know, I've been thinking about the internet. Almost everything we do on the internet is logged unless it's deleted, and almost anything can be traced, which lead me to one conclusion. Everyone has an internet footprint. This thought occurred to me when I tried to track someone from ROBLOX to some kindof contact information.

I typed in his username, which came up with a photobucket account. I tracked a few of the image URLs and one of them came up with a post made by him on a Pokemon forum. It had his real name for a username. I Googled his name and came up with another Pokemon forum account, but this time with an email and MSN contact. From there, I'm trying to contact him, which is still likely because the account has been used this year (even a few months ago).

So, what do you think, guys? How big do you think your internet footprint is?

It's called not linking your accounts together via means of messy link usage.

I use this name for everything, but I don't have much contact information anywhere.

Very small. I don't put any of my real info anywhere.

Mine might be about average size, as I tend to use some of the same usernames for things.

I recently thought up a new username for other stuff, so I'll be fine for now.

Have you guys tried tracking yourselves?

I never stick around for to long and I delete my info every now and again.
I am very paranoid about it so I take full extent to not be tracked.

I don't even like leaving my cell phone on.

well i know where my snake and I have been in, so no.

It turns out my username isn't as rare as I thought. "Isaac" is meant to be a rare name, isn't it?

From Google, I'm completely anonymous.

When your tracking someone you use a proxy and private browsing mode, and incase they get your ip you use a program to change it, unless you have a static ip.

Its medium, not that big.

Quite larger than what I'd hoped for.

Seems a couple people use my name falsely. I don't play ROBLOX, dont have Flickr, dont play Xbox Live, and my Youtube account is StaindSorrow. Other than that, just about any Gothboy77 you google search will turn up....me :D

I use the name Stimpy Gorganzola when registering anything. I don't really think it matters if anyone's tracking you though, unless you're planning on becoming a fugitive or ding dong ditching a drug lord.
