Author Topic: I plan on joining the Marines once I get out of highschool  (Read 3117 times)

I have no background knowledge of art or programming and would have no way of affording the college in the first place.
if you enjoy helping people, and don't want (as much) of a risk of getting shot, maybe a police officer would be a good carear choice.

Fighting isn't the only way to overcome world problems.

Although being a part of something bigger usually leads people into the army they do it for the kind-hearted protection of other people, but there are several other ways.

Talking down on your life is not a good mindset for someone who thinks they have to willpower to join a branch of the military. It's never easy to change but damn it's gonna be twice as hard as a marine.

I'd say give it some real time before you decide to join the Marines.

i think being a police officer might actually be a better idea

but speaking of marines, i kinda wonder how Bones is doing.

The original post could be made into a very good rap song. Just felt like I had to point that out.
or def jam haha

I'm confident I could function as an individual and with others if I did join up, I'm not incapable of doing so. I will give it some time obviously, but if I still have the same mindset, I wont be waiting past highschool.

Not exactly, no. I doubt joining some underfunded peace group and building one school in one place that will probably get destroyed or decay into nothing would be very helpful though. I could be wrong, you probably are more knowledgeable on the subject.

Thats an understatement which is reasonably offensive to the people who pour their time and effort into helping people there.

What I will say is that the current "wars" around the world aren't worth fighting for, let alone dying. Its all just countries throwing their weight around for money and to force cultural beliefs onto each other.

I understand people work hard at it, and I can totally understand why they do what they do, but thats just my view on it. But as I said, I'm not to knowledgeable on the subject.

I addressed that bit earlier in response to rockslide, that what countries do is bad, but I'm not making it any worse by joining and the only way I could possibly effect it would be positively.

considered it but put it out
if you don't mind me asking, how come?

I would disagree. There is very little positive from war, you could argue that if the most ethical and correct outcome was to win then that would be good, but at this point I feel no countries which are actively fighting have much moral fiber to their actions.

You'd just be a statistic in a not-so-respectable war at this point.

If someone is killing someone who doesn't deserve to be killed I hardly think its fair to sit back and watch.

Personal experiences mostly and my developed disrespect for police.

Why do you dislike the police

Why do you dislike the police

its the officer, not the police itself c:
unless your police department is labeled "douchebag cops"

Seeing as the police force is filled with officers...
Why do you dislike the police
Personal experiences

That's no reason to dislike the police.

A way to make a difference is to add something good to something bad anyways.

forget the po-leese.
Those mother forgeters break more laws than the citizens!

The last war worth fighting was WWII.
