Author Topic: I plan on joining the Marines once I get out of highschool  (Read 3114 times)

This is a really touchy subject, at least for me it is, so Ill just say I hope you really know its something you want to do before you make the decision, and good luck whichever choice you decide to make
Thank you, I'm pretty sure it is.

I don't really feel I have much more to enjoy in life as I stated in the op. Not saying I'm just joining to die or anything like that.

Let my give you an e-slap.

You haven't even left highschool and you think you've enjoyed all there is in life? You've only scratched the surface man. Life hasn't started for you properly yet, I beg of you to not consider the Marines now because I'm concerned your "deep thinking" on the matter is actually very shallow.

Thats cool, what do you plan on doing?

I'll soon be working in an office in events management, I'll be doing some app development in the next year after having tried out some freeware game concepts that went over well. But I'm very interested in product design, I have a design idea I've been playing around with that I want to prototype sometime soon. Been in contact with a few local companies about production costs, I don't have the funds or the experience to make a real effort of it yet so I'll have to be patient.

So far I've randomly dabbled with digital design work freelance, I'm very much interested in freelance or business ownership.

Haha, if you knew me and what I was and what I am, you would probably look at me and know my future isn't going anywhere good fast. Yeah I know there is a lot I haven't experienced, but what I'm trying to say is people like me, compared to people like you, don't exactly have access to said experiences.

Sounds like good work and sounds like you know what you're doing. Hope that goes good for you.

So your justification for joining the marine core is that you want to help as many people as possible within your current circumstances?

Go build schools in Africa.

I read your text and I already think that the military is not for you.

people aren't born soldiers, the concept of basic training is supposed to make whelps into soldiers. I can respect that he wishes to go through this.

Please expand on what you are trying to say because I don't want to make any false assumptions.

Not exactly, no. I doubt joining some underfunded peace group and building one school in one place that will probably get destroyed or decay into nothing would be very helpful though. I could be wrong, you probably are more knowledgeable on the subject.

Or instead of joining the military for 4 years, you could make art or software or something that contributes without the chance of blowing up.

That would be nice depending on who I was working for or what I was doing it for, but thats not within my realm of possibilities. Its a nice suggestion though.

You could take some collegey classes about it if you go to college.

I have no background knowledge of art or programming and would have no way of affording the college in the first place.

The original post could be made into a very good rap song. Just felt like I had to point that out.
