Looks very humble! I think the exterior needs as bit work, and some the the color selection could be softer.

This build is a recreation of the sets built for the 1980 film "The Shining." Due to spacial impossibilities and the fact that the exterior shots of the hotel shown in the film are those of the Timberline Lodge, which in reality is too small of a structure to contain the vast rooms of the Overlook, the exterior depicted in this build does not match the one shown in the film. The exterior lacks detail and windows because the interior sets of the hotel had few windows. Anyway, my goal for this project was to replicate the interior as accurately as possible. I don't know if "humble" would be a good word to describe the place, considering it's cold and isolating nature depicted in the film, but thanks nonetheless.

He is very sincere.

Holy crap this is gorgeous, must have taken forever.

May we rate and critique?

Interior is good for the most part, but the exterior could use some work.  And if this is from the shining, where is the snow?

Hmm. Interesting use of pictures. I think I've seen the same room about 10 times at different angles, though.

Thank you, I started this project around Thanksgiving of last year and finished the structure in May. I never thought I'd actually get anywhere with it, and yes you may.

Thanks. There is no snow because it is currently summer. There are also no mountains, I may add these features later.

Many of the camera angles mimic those used in the film.

Oh my cosmic overseer.

This is one of the greatest--

stick to interiors

Excluding exterior, 9/10. It feels like some of the hallways and busier rooms get too crowded, I'd prefer if the rugs were on level with the rest of the floor, and the Gold Room doesn't have the right feel to it.

Other than that, this is pretty much a fantastic eerie flashback palace and I salute you, fellow nostalgia replicator.

and I'll always think of this when I see that staircase

Looks incredible! Great attention to detail and realism. It looks like it functions as a build perfectly.
