2) i tried headphones from them and if the wires were not positioned perfectly, the sound would be a) static, b) really quiet, c) both

Placebo effect. Any professional that works with audio will tell you to stay the forget away from TB.

Rule of thumb, if any headphones are marketed with "gaming" as the focus, they're stuff. It's a gimmick. Any good music headphones will be just as good for gaming.

after ~one and a half weeks with turtle beach headphones i was literally forced to go buy a different one because it was already basically unusable. it wasn't so bad at first, but after a few days it was just bad
