Author Topic: Bought my own first instrument  (Read 1416 times)

Mm. Well the reason I like the piano, despite how amazing and beautiful it is as an instrument and a piece of furniture, is that its one of those instruments that can play complex songs of all sorts of styles without the need to be backed up by another instrument.

There are endless songs designed for the piano and the piano only, whether its a fast paced rag from the early 1900's which are funny and interesting to learn, or something touchingly deep and solemn.

Its good if you are a computer fanatic as well because you'll find memorizing songs is a lot like touch typing haha.

Speaking of furniture instruments... we also have this,

And this...

Oh and these.

Everyone ends up referring the double bass as the "giant violin" which I punch them in the richard for.

Ooooh very nice. Though, I dunno where we'd put it in our house, but it looks great when you have a spot lol.

i have a piano that's over a hundred years old. it sounds nice, but as with all old pianos, pieces are missing; these would be the left foot and some ivory off the tops of the keys. another piano had hammers and wires missing.

I play the Annoying Orangeet

We've got one from the early 1900's as well, the case is beautiful, lovely wood, and its a very humble piano design. Partially restored, but the required tuning is constant as with old pianos, and it needs further refurb. Not a great brand, but I love the thing and plan on finishing the job the previous owners didn't finish.

My dad has a really nice piano, but it's out of tune and I don't think we can spare the money to have it tuned.
Anyway, very good.

Oh, and I play piano, mandolin, guitar, and sing.

My first instrument was a Viola, then I moved onto a Saxophone.
I don't play viola, I play violin but I did the same thing as you although I still play violin.

Mack, my first instrument was violin, then I moved to bass.
