Author Topic: iPod Touch 4g battery life  (Read 1598 times)

When I fist bought my iPod touch, the battery life was meh. I could play games for about half the day before it died. When I jailbroke it, the version was 4.???. The battery life dipped somewhat, not enough to make a difference. Now, at V 5.1.1, the battery life was astronomical, I could use it regularly throughout the day and it would be at 20% at night when I went to bed. Now that the current versions jailbreak was out I decided to go for it. The battery life is poop now, it charges up to 50% in like 10 mins and won't charge to 100% if I leave it on the charger for the entire day, it goes to 96%(I have a battery percentage thing). From 96%, it takes one or two hours to kill it by using the internet or watching videos. Why does the jailbreak rape the battery so bad? Is there a way to fix it without restoring it? Do any of you guys have this problem? I don't have any theemes installed, either, just foldersinfolders.

Battery life depends on what you're doing. Using Wi-Fi drains it pretty quickly. Jailbraking might have an effect; I'm sure some features it adds (especially multitasking features) aren't always as optimized as they should be.

I could watch vids and surf all day before the jailbreak. Now it's on charger life support.

then restore it and don't jailbreak again

What jailbreak features do you have enabled?

Hm. How long have you had your ipod? Ive had mine for about 3 years (Mines a 4g too) and I have the newest jailbreak. I have had no problems with my battery life. I would be on it for hours on safari or on youtube and my battery wouldn't even dip for the most. are you on the newest jailbreak/newest firmware/tethered or untethered?
