You crawl over there and pick it up. It's an abnormally large wire, and it didn't look like it belonged to the TV. You followed it under the TV stand and grabbed the end of it. It had unusual prongs... it looks like it fits something familiar, you just don't remember. You follow the cord further and find it attached to an orange device. faded Lettering decorated the side of it. "M.A.T.T. Pack".

Snno peeked over you.

"OH I have a ton of those! Back at home! I find them a lot at junkyards and I think the orange color is pretty. Quite a few of them still work but I'm not sure what it goes to."

You bumped your head on the TV stand.

"You're a thief right? Is that why a huge guy grabbed you today and took off? I can't say I blame him if you're going around pilfering farmhouses and other places."

Snno sneered a little.

"Call me what you will, I don't believe I'm an thief and I haven't hurt anyone doing it. Do I look like the type of person who would mug someone just because they had something I wanted?"

You paused and thought about it.

"Yes. You've been nothing but trouble all day..."

You pulled the device out from under the TV stand and sat up. You fiddled with the plug and looked around the room or where it went. You knew you could use it somehow.

Snno made a pouty face.

"You really seem to forget quickly how you hurt me and started this mess to begin with. I could have lost something very important to humanoids. It's called an arm. Maybe you heard of it."

You shook your head.

"I got you ice cream and apologized. What else would you want me to do? The ice cream was more trouble than what it was worth today too."

You gave up on the device. There was nowhere on you you could think of to plug it in.

"I'll think about it. It has to be worth s-..."

Snno suddenly stopped and wore a big grin.

"What is it?" You asked.

"Nothing. Thank you for the Icecream." Snno seemed lost in thought.

If you could roll your eyes, you would at that moment. Snno had drew her name with the ice cream on the wall near the window.

"Nevermind. We'll figure this mess out tomorrow. Captain, you haven't said anything so far. What's on your mind."

Everyone's attention in the room was focused on the Air Captain. He shrugged and puffed on his pipe then opened his mouth to speak.

"I'll keep a watch out. I'm not much of a sleeper. And I'm aware that the thug that grabbed you Snno was not the only one. Someone is looking for you and I think it best we get you out of the city. there's only one problem."

The Captain paused a moment.

"My ship is outside the city. And Everyday the City does it's usual shift."

"Shift?" you asked.

"The City lad is constantly transforming. It's a technological marvel but with good things comes consequences. The City is constantly changing shape every day. And tomorrow the city is scheduled for lockdown. Nothing serious, but it's routine. For all we know, the next morning we could be several miles inside the city farther from the Dock. Roads, buildings, everything. It shifts. The residents of the City unlike us are here to stay. Visitors are required to leave the city before Dawn. Staying longer than that is illegal and can land you a spot in the pokey down in GreyState. If we get caught without ID, We're in trouble. We'd have to register as residents."

Snno perked up.

"Why don't we leave now? We can make it out before it's too late."

The Captain muttered something under his breath and continued speaking.

"I spotted several people following us. It's not safe at this hour and One of them is camping down in the lobby. He's armed with a machine gun. There are two more hiding in a van outside the window. They can't get us in here because the V2's are patrolling around outside and in.. That is until the city shifts. That will disable security and give them ample time to raid the Motel. To make it worse, I think the desk clerk who gave us our room just realized we didn't show any ID."

Snno got excited.

"We have Matt! He's like. A robot! He could obliterate them all!"

The Captain sighed and pointed at you passing out in a corner.

"Look at him, Snno. He's barely got any juice left, and I can spot already a bunch of things wrong with his systems. He needs a mechanic."

Snno stayed quiet for a little then spoke.

"What are we going to do?"

The Captain blew out another cloud of smoke.

"You two get some rest. I leave at midnight. I have a plan"

Matt had finally passed out. And Snno was snoring. This is the perfect time to slip off.

*you are now controlling Captain Coat*

coat: look out the window and watch the city shift

I never noticed, but you may be right.  Hm.

Anyway, take captain coat and plug the plug in Matt.

You got up and stuck the electrical plug into Matts charger. It fit in with a click. A holographic battery indicators floated next to Matts head, currently in position at 1%. You took a moment to admire your clever observation of noticing where his charging point was and turned to leave the room.

You looked back and set your gaze on Snno.

Leaving them here is risky but there's no other way out that you can see. Do you think you should stay in the room or should you go down and face the issue head on?

before we do anything can we get an inventory check on this guy?
what's he got in his pockets/bag/hyperspace arsenal?

Why do you have some poor sap's jaw bone

Why do you have some poor sap's jaw bone
That's a Tale for a different story ;)

You remembered all that you had seen while in the hotel lobby, a large truck had dropped off a box of fireworks (for whatever reason.) You are also sure the man in question won't recognize you. He's looking for a mutant, not some shady guy in a large sailors coat...right?
Igniting that box with a quick flick of your lighter should set the place ablaze with colored explosives. The distraction will give you ample enough time to subdue the man down in the lobby. But that's only in the hopes that the box is still there. You could choose an alternative and shoot the box of fireworks, but you aren't sure if that will have the desired effect.
