Well that's true for any operating system. iOS and Android have viruses too. But no one wants to make a Linux virus since it takes up less than 1% of the user industry, so there's very few.
also it was a huge deal back in like 2009 and a bunch of news sources published articles when your average virus was found on Linux machines because that was like one of the first.
