even after all these years I still don't get this comic
ctrl alt del is a stuffty webcomic by tim buckley, a man who has absolutely no talent whatsoever. the comic is garbage, the characters are garbage and the art is garbage. the jokes consist of "video game humor hahaha the cake is a lie" and other stupid stuff that people used to love back in 2002 or whenever the hell this comic started.
the art was already bad from the beginning, but he got so lazy at a certain point, he drew hundreds of bad-looking poses & facial expressions (most characters in the comic share the same facial expression 99% of the time) and he just copied & pasted those into a 4 panel comic format.
the thing is, despite this comic being so absolutely awful, it still had a lot of fans, which boosted bum tickley's ego to the skies. he refused to (and really, still refuses) to accept any criticism whatsoever. his success went to his head and he probably believed that he could do anything and still have lots of fans. in a way, he's right, because even after all the awful stuff he has released, he still has a considerable amount of fans. he started doing whatever he could think of to make his comic seem more interesting, including an absolutely dreadful animated series that (thank god) only lasted two short seasons.
then, one day, he decided to introduce drama in a comic that is entirely reliant on video game jokes. the main character and his Gamer Girl™ girlfriend would have a baby, but a while after this plot arc started and the readers started getting used to the idea, tim cuckley decided that she would miscarry.
every single person who already hated the comic & a stuffton of people who actually liked it went absolutely loving nuts. tim forgetley had created the greatest unintentional comedy of all time. people found this so incredibly funny that they created thousands of loss.jpg edits and this is still happening in 2016, 8 years after the comic's original release.
this stupid comic & tim buckley's entire existence have become such a huge joke on the internet that most people who are familiar with the comic can even recognize it in a drawing of a bunch of lines
first panel: 1 vertical line
second panel: 2 vertical lines, right line a little lower than the left one
third panel: 2 vertical lines, both parallel to each other
fourth panel: 1 vertical line crossed with a horizontal line
