Elementary you barely had to bring stuff home.
Middle School 6th grade for me you had to lug every single book around they gave you, in the cradle of your arms with a pile of books about a foot high.
7th grade for me got better because I got a bag, but I learned to use my locker to keep stuff I didn't need for the morning or for the afternoon.
