just leaaaaave, there's no need to patch the hole or transmute anything else

Use the mercury to patch the hole, but not before looking on the other side to see where it's leaking from.

Transmute leaking mercury/residue into a big welded steel patch

the whack a few boxes open

why does everyone insist on patching a hole on a tower you're supposed to be destroying?

Oh wait, we're in that tower? I must have gotten lost for a second.

Oh, then never mind. I still suggest finding the source of the leak for informational purposes, but otherwise do as ? said and leave.

So much time has been wasted thinking about repairing stuff or transmuting large quantities of Mercury into Light Crystals (Which is not a good idea. If you transmute too much the reaction might travel up the flow of the Mercury, through the pipe and into the reserve, causing an explosion.)

You have also forgotten about Menen. Poor kid is probably waiting for you. Lucas is also might bothering him. You need to find a way out of here. You could just keep dropping down floors, or you could attempt to go back to the portal room, but its probably infested with guards.

You walk over to the doors to find that they have been locked and enchanted from the outside. The gaps under the door have also been sealed. They probably thought they could kill you with Mercury fumes, Or they are trying to flood the room with Mercury.

How should we leave?

Go into the hole in the wall

Meanwhile, Lucas has gone on a romantic quest to find Menen, his true love.

Modify magic relays into a teleporter.

You cant fit.
If you can fit through the floor suddenly, you can fit through that hole.

It doesn't go anywhere besides into the spider-infested space between the walls

spider-infested space

Well, at least you'll have something to eat if you're stuck here for a while.
