Hit one of the spheres with Tingles.

You throw an orb at Tingles. He doesn't even flinch. It just bounces off his blacker than the blackest black skin and rolls over to you. The orb has taken a dark grey color, but it didn't open. Perhaps it has changed the possible contents, or it maybe just absorbed some of Tingles' unnatural skin tone.
Throw them on the ground to open them.

You hurl one of the orbs at the ground and it breaks off into pieces, then fade to gray. It contained a BLUE DREAM SHARD. You must find 5 more of all the other colors to reconstruct a BROKEN DREAM ORB, then it must be repaired to create a DREAM ORB.
>Have Verton break one of the meta materials open.

Verton also breaks open one in a similar fashion to you, and it yields a PURPLE DREAM SHARD. Sweet. You harvest up the other 4 orbs.

Everyone continues northwards towards the vault's entrance. The Lux Sages keep the monsters away so you can safely get to the entrance.

: We cannot follow you inside, sadly.

: Why not?

: If we enter the vault, we might transform into fears. There are specific Mind Beings that can enter the Vault, and they are all incapacitated.

: What do you mean?

: They are simply called Defense Mechs, and they take care of protecting the Mindscape. The ones specifically designated to the Fear Vault are all trapped on the outskirts of the Mindscape. We aren't sure how they got there, but we are sure it was an outside influence.

: With them gone, the Fears were allowed to escape.

: In order to restore balance, you must defeat the Terror Beast so that the Defense Mechs may be able to fight off the Fears and lock them back up. Sure, we can fight them, but not as well as the . Our job isn't to fight,

: You guys are super strong, what could be stronger than you?

: If you think we are strong, you should see the Defense Mechs. One of them could easily take down 20 Fears without any effort.
