Your plan was to get into the tower, plant a bomb, grab the Shield Pyramid, and then get out. You just planted the bomb, which was made out of other stuff because you left your original bomb at home. Its remote detonated, and even then the fuse will take a few minutes to burn up. After that, the bomb will do it's thing and destroy the tower.

You don't want to be anywhere near the explosion when it goes off. Its a Catalyst Bomb, so it will turn all the Mercury in the tank into volatile energy. Very volatile energy. Enough energy to send the tower sky high. Of course, the town has been considered, and you placed the bomb is such a location that the tower will fly away from the town and into the ocean.

Moving Verton is probably a bad idea. You don't want to wake him up.

The Mindsphere isnt affected by outside influences, only dreams are. If the Mindsphere was affected, it would already be sideways.
