Anyone with an Australian accent gets all the bitches.

we have very very very low gun crime in the uk, so we take everything down with flowers submittion moves

if there is someone with a gun, we call in the armed response unit (equillent to a SWAT team)

Camera, my dwarven UK police will shoot beer mugs at you at a speed of 30 mph!

Standard Police: Standard UK police units are equipped with ASP Batons and CS spray. ASP Batons are telescopic batons made from stainless-steel designed to beat the target to the ground, causing in some circumstances severe damage such as broken bones.
CS Spray is pepper-spray, just another word for it. This is designed to incapacitate the target, it reacts with moisture meaning it'll burn their eyes and mouth.
EDIT: CS spray because it reacts with moisture will also burn if they're sweating. Meaning the more they fight, or the more they have been resisting, the more it will just burn.

Armed Police (CO19/SO19): CO19 is the British-equivilent of S.W.A.T, they can be armed with various different weapons systems such as:
  • Glock 17
  • H&K MP5
  • H&K G36 SF
  • H&K G3k
  • Benelli M3 Super 90 shotgun
  • M26 Taser
  • H&K 69 Baton Gun

Ministry of Defence Police: The MoD Police is a specialist department of the UK Police force. Their primary role is the protection of Ministry of Defence sites however can be called into civilian law enforcement when required. They're often armed with:
  • H&K MP7
  • H&K MP5
  • Sig P229
  • M26 Taser
  • H&K 69 Baton Gun
  • L85A2 assault rifle + ACOG sight

There are many more police departments/units however if I went into detail i'm afraid I would be here all night.

Regarding the Olympics:
The security of the Olympics is a joint operation between civilian security, military and the Police.
Land
There are going to be 12,500 police officers on duty in the UK with 9,500 of those in London.
13,500 military personnel including 2,100 reservists are going to be on-duty providing security for the Olympic games including 5,000 supporting the police in specialist work such as: bomb disposal, building search teams and specialist sniffer dogs with an extra 1,000 providing logistical support.

G4S will be providing 10,400 staff to also assist with the security of the venue itself.

Water
The Royal Navy's HMS Bulwark will be stationed off of Weymouth and Portland in Dorest. She will be carrying a specialist unit of Royal Marines on-board ready to respond to an incident 24-hours a day, in addition to this she will be acting as the command and control vessel for the water-based sailing events.
HMS Ocean will also be moored in Greenwich to provide logistical support, accommodation for military personnel and as a base for Puma and Lynx helicopters to support airspace security.

Dorset Police marine officers will also be securing water ways with smaller craft, RIB's and jet skis.

Air
There are going to be numerous RAF Typhoon fighter squadrons patrolling and on standby to respond and deal with any air attacks. Royal Navy and Army helicopters will also be operational around London equipped with snipers.

Surface-to-air missiles will be deployed in six sites across London, these are acting as the last line of air defence. Should an air-threat get that far, it will be quite simply blown out the sky.

That is how we do our job, and we do it well; I can assure you.
