Author Topic: Did embarq set up a curfew or something?  (Read 788 times)

The last few days I've been staying up until midnight, and I'd probably stay up later, but every night around this time my internet goes out. The router says everything is fine, but I can't do anything on my computer or phone except go to the router's page. The next day it's always fine. Its quite a pain in the ass. If someone could shed some light on this that would be great.

Every time it storms I lose internet.

The worst part is that I lose internet if it storms anywhere around Indiana.

Generally it means your router is operational but your ISP is experiencing problems, perhaps wiring or etc.  You may need to call them up and see what's up.

I use Embarq and while it cuts out at random times for a few minutes, it never stays out.  Call customer support and see if they can help.  I might also recommend looking for a new ISP when you get a chance, Embarq has always been a massive problem with random internet crashes and the constant failure to connect to most games.  Customer support has never been any help with these problems and I plan to find another ISP as soon as possible.

Something is wrong with the wiring in your ISP, as Nick said. Disconnect and connect your router to restore Internet access, however, doing this will gradually worsen your problem. It's only a temporary solution.

Considering I've never heard of Embarq I'd suggest switching to a big-name provider.
