Author Topic: Is something wrong with my connection?  (Read 241 times)

So steam downloaded an update for gmod (I think) and the download said it was going at 1.3mb/s which then changed to something around 550kb/s. This was quite a few hours ago. Now I'm downloading killing floor and the mod for it, defence alliance 2. Killing floor is at 320kb/s and the mod is at 1.9mb/s. When I go on speedtest, I get this

Is something wrong with my connection or steam? I'm getting less than 10% of my download speed on steam, but I'm not sure about other downloads, however.

THIS IS NOT A SPEEDTEST THREAD

There are 8 megabits in a megabyte. Speedtest uses megabits. You divide your speedtest result by 8 to get your maximum megabytes per second transfer rate.

10 megabits per second = 1.25 megabytes per second

That explains a lot. Thanks
