0 ping is impossible because, although data travels extremely fast, it takes time. For example, when you turn on a light switch to a GOOD light, the light seems to turn on instantly, although it actually takes time for the signal to let the electricity through, the electricity to reach the light, the light to begin chemically in the bulb, and the light to reach your eyes. these actions can take as little as a millisecond, and so you do not notice them. this is why 0 ping is impossible.

data HAS to travel. and it does take time. just because it takes less then a second dosnt mean you have some kind of magic ping.

all you know is. its a ping greater then zero, and less then 1. incremental amount that computers dont gauge.

Why is it that I can only get more than 4 milliseconds ping to things on my network, but he is capable of data travel accross the internet in less than 1 millisecond?

Ping is measured in time TO AND FROM, remember.

we can easily find out which servers we bounce through.


logan, run this in your command prompt and post the output:
tracert 69.64.43.11

that will show us all the network hubs, switches, and servers you have to go through to reach pecons server.

someone on this TF2 server had a ping of 1. It was a skial server.
