It isn't. It's about countries regardless of political views, coming together for the good of sport. It has nothing to do with who wins and who loses.
yes it is about winning. Winning is the most important thing to these players. For example, when team Usa lost in 04 I believe. They just left. They didn't want those bronze medals. Those are garbage to them.
That seems more like an American ideal, not everyone who goes to the Olympics is completely forgeted like that.
