Here's a picture that shows exactly why i'm glad they changed the design. holy stuff that looks awful.
Peglegs. Skirt. Shoulderpads look super weird. Armour looks like a chest tumour. Hooks look super weird. Pants look awful.

It only looks "weird" because your used to normal characters.

They didn't change Blockland Retail player models for copyright reasons, they were distinct enough.
They changed BLOCKLAND0002's player models because they were LEGO. If retail beta's player models had copyright issues Mega Blox would have died a long time ago.

But really, I couldn't get my hands on a old blockhead player-type that worked. It's close enough.
