i didn't add them, and the code tells me not to get rid of it, so i'm not gonna risk anything. :I
made the background different

you can apply css to them and float them to the left if you want divs side to side one another

it looks better and is easier to type than tables, but since tables will usually get you your desired result quicker and with ease, if you're still a beginner with this stuff just avoid divs for now

at least apply styles to the insides of the table cells to make them look more like buttons and not links in boxes, the internet abandoned those years ago lol
