Like I said Jail is just the place they hold people before trial. The final destination is either freedom if found guilty, prison(if they find it that serious) or most likely Juvy because he is 15.

if you are tried as a child, your parents will most likely go to prison/get a fine

His parents could only go to prison if they:

• Let him cut school.
• Neglected him.
• Played a part in his crime.

Anyway if ends getting a trial with a judge and not a jury he will end up getting locked up. If chooses the trial by jury(a judge will be there) he might be found innocent because it's hard to convince a large group. Should it come to a Jury Trial the DA is going to try and get the most conservatives to get him locked up and the defense will try and get the most liberals to try and back him up.
