Exactly, which is the one fact everyone seems to gloss over. It provides legal benefits and no one should be denied that. End of argument. This is a factual statement. There shouldn't be an argument because the answer is already clear. There are so few states who have legalized actual gay marriage I'm appalled to live in a country as hypocritical as ours, claiming to be the home of 'liberty' and 'justice'. Liberty and justice is not allowing the religious majority to define other's civil liberties, and it is also not buying into this bullstuff Civil Union train.

Civil Unions are even more insulting than denial of marriage alone. Second-class citizenship. It's like having a water fountain for whites (regular marriage) and a water fountain for blacks (civil unions). WELL AT LEAST YOU GOT A WATER FOUNTAIN HUH????

It also amuses me to no end how people preach their 'traditional marriage' bullcrap when about seventy years ago the same argument was made in regards to whether black people should be allowed to marry white people.

I don't see why people get so butthurt at companies that don't support gay marriage to the point where they try to completely avoid them, even though they've been going to them for food/etc for years.

Yep! I was arguing with a dumbass on Facebook who claimed that heteroloveual couples contributed to society solely based upon the fact that they create more people.
I responded by saying that without a certain homoloveual by the name of Alan Turing, we probably wouldn't have been on Facebook at all.
and also reminded them of all the white trash families who don't contribute stuff to society besides directly funding beer companies.

in about ten-twenty years, people are going to be born, growing up thinking "really, they seriously denied homoloveuals rights back then?!" just like I grew up going "lol people seriously believed in segregation?"
