today I shot some handguns

so I had never shot a firearm in my life before today
I've shot a BB gun and some airsoft guns before, but never an actual firearm
so, my father and stepmom took me and my sister to an indoor shooting range in columbus, georgia
and I shot two handguns
more specifically, a 9mm one and a .22 one
the 9mm looked kinda like this, but I'm not sure exactly what the name of the gun was

about the .22, I only know that the ammo boxes said "ruger" on them, and that it looked exactly like this


I actually started with the 9mm one, which is pretty backwards
its kick took a little getting used to, but after that it wasn't bad
the .22 was extremely easy to fire

we were there for about three hours. my stepmom was originally kinda scared (because the couple next to us was shooting their own .44 magnum), but she ended up firing a whole box of the .22 ammo, which is 100 bullets, plus some bullets from previous boxes
altogether I fired about five magazines

My ears rang when I fired a shotgun without ear protection on a camping trip. Handguns are really loud imo

they weren't too loud, actually
a few shots without the muffs wouldn't have been so bad
and that was indoors

the .44 was an exception

I like to play with my 22 sometimes. That's the only real firearm I've shot.
