Author Topic: what is the optimal grafics card temp  (Read 926 times)

mine is derping around at 60C (140F)

whats average

just idling

Mine idles around 23C with a Hyper Plus CPU fan. I think yours is way too hot for idle temperatures. Try adding in more fans or vacumming dust out.

@25C idle and 65C load with only about 3 fans in my case.

Idles around 60c
Plays around 70-90c  :cookieMonster:
What can you expect from a laptop.

Idles around 40-50. Maxes out at around 70.

During gaming you can go from anywhere to 50 C if you're on a very cooling-efficient system to upwards of 70 C.  Going higher than 80 C should be concerning and you may want to invest in a better case, or if it's a laptop just getting a new laptop.  I think real damage starts occurring at higher than 100 C.

Idle temperatures should be anywhere below 55 C.

How do you guys know what the temperature is? My laptop doesn't do that.

It's not a laptop-specific feature or anything.  Every processor, both CPUs and GPUs, come with temperature monitors on-board inside them.

You can use tools such as RealTempGT to monitor both.  Some programs, such as EVGA's Precision and MSI's Afterburner, will display GPU temperatures in-game in an overlay, similar to FRAPS' FPS counter.

Aw damn, for all of them you need a real graphics card. My processor is an Intel Celeron and my card is a Mobile Express Chipset Family. Are there any of these temperature things for these cards?

my laptop: 30-40 C idle, 50-80 C active depending on the game.

I have 3 case fans and my card was averaging 30C. I think something burnt or happened but now it does not go under 60C unless I force the fans to go faster, and that just takes it 5C down.

Probably just the summer heat.

My card idles at 34 degrees Celsius and goes up to about 50-60 while gaming, my case only has one exhaust fan and the PSU intake to vacate heat from my case though, will probably be much lower when I get a cooler-master case
