Author Topic: What do you think will happen when Humans reach "endgame"?  (Read 1934 times)

You know how in Minecraft there is a point where you can't advance any further?
Like when you get diamond everything and beat the Enderdragon. That is endgame in a sandbox type game. What do you think will happen when Humans reach a state of endgame? We've figured out the periodic table so new stuff like magic transportation crystals aren't gonna pop out one day. When we figure out how to mass produce nuclear energy, then what next? In Minecraft you can install mods like Equivalent Exchange or Buildcraft. You have loads of new stuff then, but not in the real world.
Maybe we will kill ourselves off, or maybe we will live to see the sun blow up, who knows?

Just a thought that occurred when I was watching my quarry do all my work for me in Minecraft.

no more humans obviously

We will throw knives at evil generals named Shepherd.

The difference being that Minecraft has a relatively paltry set of features compared to the universe, they're just drawn out exponentially.
If humans ever manage to reach "Endgame" it'll take many millions of years and, by that point, we will probably have developed technology which allows us to travel to parallel universes and such, so the endgame would only ever be reached in a few universes at most before we either die out or are forgotten completely because of how far we spread ourselves

Humans will be wiped out before we reach "endgame."

The universe is absolutely enormous. It will take too long to explore that humans will cease to exist.

North Korea's probably going to pop open a can of mutually assured destruction before endgame.

What happens if the endgame is actually at the start and we have missed its creation?

North Korea's probably going to pop open a can of mutually assured destruction before endgame.
Mutually assured destruction is the theory that if two parties have devices that can kill eachother pointed at eachother there will be peace because it is known that if one party fires the other party will also fire and both will be destroyed.

You're saying North Korea will cause world peace?

the periodic table wasn't discovered and 'figured out', it was created. i don't understand how it's even relevant

it's not as if humans and technology have any absolute defined or predicted 'end' so 'endgame' in the sense you're talking about is a time that will probably never come. there will always be some kind of new idea brought about and new technology invented and researched.

It was sort of figured out, there's a reason that rows and columns correspond.

in the sense that they figured out how they would set it up, yes.

not in the sense that it was some kind of thing that already existed in nature they had to research and figure out, which OP seems to be using it as.

I sorta disagree, his small reference to it doesn't really imply that it existed in nature and we discovered it, more that we attained the knowledge to build it.

No shut up

If North Korea's pocket money can loving afford anything

upon further investigation i've decided that's probably what OP meant to imply
