cuz i can imagine suddenly wanting to reset the colors and such, but it being a pain in the ass spending 10 min adjusting things.

Most likely, Bisjac. There is a "Simple" tab and "Advanced" tab. I'm guessing when you mess around with the settings in Advanced, then select a preset map in Simple, the Advanced settings will revert back.
