"a flacid snake is a righteous snake"
Oh god I'm so using that.

forget religion. Ed Gould lives on without it.

1. The Romans were converting to Christianity before Pagan barbarians ransacked them

2. The Catholic church was the major funding and supporting source of the Renaissance

3. China was actually ahead of Europe in technology, had it not been for secular wars, they might have discovered Europe first

If anything, AP Euro helped me to know that I should know the context of history before assuming a graph making a point is 100% correct

I WOULD NOT HARM A FLY BECAUSE OF MY RELIGION

I WOULD KILL IT BECAUSE THAT PUNKASSBITCH LANDED ON MY HEAD

2 things

1. The Romans were converting to Christianity before Pagan barbarians ransacked them

2. The Catholic church was the major funding and supporting source of the Renaissance

3. China was actually ahead of Europe in technology, had it not been for secular wars, they might have discovered Europe first

I'm not saying the graph is 100% correct but it does make a point, there's no denying that christianity suppressed invetion and slowed, even reversed scientific progress.

Are you talking about Christianity in it's core beliefs? Because I think mostly barbarians with Pagan beliefs (WHO DESTROYED A LOT OF THE ROMAN'S WORK) and the Catholic Church papacy pre-renaissance did it

and the graph still does not take into fact other parts of the world such as China

Does it matter who destroyed the Romans, it was christianity that kept further invention and past advancements in the dark, also maybe China isn't included as the graph displays advancement in relation to christianity and it's spread.

1. Um yes because the barbarians pretty much destroyed the advancement that everyone before them worked up to, setting European scientific advancement back to square one, which is pretty much the reversal part you are talking about. It's like saying you are mad at certain construction workers for working on a building slowly, and not even caring about the terrorists that blew up the whole thing. Remember that Europe still had to deal with mostly ununited barbarians for a while, and the black plague also slowed the advancement of their civilization down.

2. The graph only has "Scientific advancement" as a label. Not clear at all what it's specifying, although everyone is going to assume Europe (I shouldn't even have to comment about assumptions).
