Author Topic: Furdle & Dionysus's City RPG  (Read 3395 times)

From what I've lately been hearing about Dionysus crashing servers and JazZ being an idiot, this doesn't look like it will turn out well with those two being admin at the same time.
I don't care what they have done in the past. From what I have seen from them so far, they are perfectly fine. You can have your opinions.

Admins can ban each other
Admins have no eval access to update script parts and load stuff
People just respect SAs more
For now, we will just have admins. If we need a super admin or 2, then we will change that.

if you dont want SA in case they start doing bad stuff, and cant be banned,
why are they admin in the first place since you dont seem to trust them

just wondering why you refuse to have SA
That's not why we don't have super admins. We will not have super admins until we trust certain admins enough to have the authority of super admin. Think of the admin position as try-outs for super admin. Some have already been....cut, if you will, from try-outs because they couldn't handle feedback or the power they had.

Can we please discuss the city rpg rather than the people running it? It is our problem if anything happens with our admins.

What's the current brick count?
What is the expected finished brick count?

The current brick count is somewhere in the mid 30k's. We are expected to finish with about 40-45k bricks.

roads are wtf
We tried to limit the amount of bricks used for the roads as much as we could. So it was either more bricks and more detailed, or less bricks and generic. Keep in mind that we are already in the 30k's in bricks. Using more detailed roads could have brought us up to 50k easily.

Perhaps the problem is that they are too detailed It's like screaming "LOOK AT ME I PWETTY". A generic and good-looking straight road can be made using only 9 bricks for the top including the top baseplate.

You're at the 30k bricks from streets at that size? I built an island around 3x that size with well detailed and complicated roads that was around 30k, how in the hell did you hit 30k?

A road by the looks of it uses 50 bricks. And I am talking about the straight roads.

Also the roads I made make it easier to do this:

Or make the roads bigger

They look way too small and having double lines two full bricks apart looks terrible, lanes should be 10x at least because nobody can drive well enough to keep in an 8x

Because everyone drives legally in this game and does not smash in every possible thing.

The 30k brickcount isn't only roads, there are also many buildings central to the city which are not shown in the screenshots.

Poor show 'chaps, poor show.

Still too many. Let's say there are 100 32x Road Bricks:

If 10k bricks are assigned to road: 10.000/100=100 bricks per road brick.

And I am quite sure more than that is assigned to roads and there are less than 100 road bricks.

It's gonna be weird building in the lots between those roads, some parts of the building are going to be bellow the sidewalk while other parts are going to be blocks above of it, just straighten out the roads.

We aren't showing the whole city. We are also not showing 5 or so buildings. And the ramped roads are using plates and other small bricks to fill in the sides. The ramped roads are easily 3x that of the flat roads. There are also 2 islands not shown and another bridge not shown.

Not if you know what you're doing. This is actually a good lot to build in because you can have more than one entrance if you have a shop. If it's a house, you can have a back door for easier access. If you are a criminal, it can be a quick and unexpected get-a-way. And if you're a decent builder, you can actually make it loo quite nice.

No. Not all of the 32x road bricks are the same, as said above. The ramped roads have far more bricks than the flat roads. We tried to use as few bricks as possible. And thanks for the page-stretch.

1)Aaand how does that matter? They are still roads, I am not only talking about bricks/road because that's less important, but it's no excuse for the mass of bricks. I gave you example of roads. How much we be that if you used the roads I did, or other roads that don't scream "LOOK AT ME I SO COMPLEX", the brickcount would be cut in half?

2)You didn't do a good job at all. See 1).

3)....Fixed.
