Author Topic: Why is the Steam Community handicapped?  (Read 800 times)

Whenever I have a Steam-related game problem, I google it and find a link to the Steam forum so I check it out. Most of the replies are "I have the same problem" and offer no useful help. How are they so stupid?

For example,

I bought Hitman Blood Money off steam in the Hitman series package. When I try and start the game through the steam launcher it has the launching message, goes black, and then goes back to the desktop. When I try and launch it directly by going through program files. It gives me the "failed to find steam" error when I click on it. Reinstalls have not worked. Are there any fixes?

The OP clearly stated his problem and some handicap wastes his time typing that. It pisses me off.

not to mention they copy comments and post them else were

There's your problem.

Something unhelpful would be like "delete system32".  Saying that you have the same problem isn't unhelpful at all.

no, that's youtube

also saying you have the same problem instead of making a new topic cuts down on spam.

Yeah.
If multiple people get the same issue then that could signal that it's a real fault with the game itself, a fault which requires a patch or somesuch, a patch which would never be made because people like you got their way and only one person was allowed to say they have a certain issue with something at a time

It is, can you fix a problem from "I have the same problem"?

Isn't it helpful when the thread is bumped, it's more likely get answered.

If they're asked for specifications to look for common causes, then yes.

If there's no common cause between multiple users and it's one of those games that has a rare form of "not working on some systems because of the alignment of the planets", then it's something with the developer and most likely can't be fixed.

OP is dumb.
They arent handicapped for saying, "I have the same problem". It allows the person who asked the question to know that hes not the only one with the problem.

Not to mention this happens everywhere, not just steam.

I just wanted to see your reactions but seriously it is.

If you have the same problem, what good will it do to post "i haz sam prblem" if you do, then just wait for someone to give a fix. Otherwise its just a useless bump.

Good point they should just make another thread about the same problem.
