Author Topic: Just soft-modded my Wii, got Homebrew......  (Read 4144 times)

It's a bit risky, but that's what we have BootMii for.
And to list the changes according to WiiBrew:
So should I downgrade or not?
Also if I delete Homebrew is that un-doing Letterbomb or not?

So should I downgrade or not?
If you run into problems where something refuses to work then you could try downgrading, BUT TAKE A BOOTMII BACKUP FIRST.

Also if I delete Homebrew is that un-doing Letterbomb or not?
I think so, but I'm not sure, I've only used Twilight Hack and Bannerbomb.

Err how do I do a bootmii backup?
I just want to know if I should downgrade or not. I don't really see any more benefit's. I'm really confused...

Have you managed to get into the BootMii menu?

If you don't get any problems then don't. If anything refuses to work then do it.

When I start bootmii through Homebrew the screen is black and the wii's disk drive flashes? And like what problems?

Do you have the "Bootmii-prepared" SD card in the Wii?
You install BootMii in Boot2-mode through the HM installer and "prepare" your SD card. Then you shut down the Wii and restart it. Then the menu should appear.

What do you mean Bootmii-prepared? Can't I just launch Bootmii through Homebrew channel?

When you install Bootmii then it asks you to put in an SD card which it installs a few things to.
There are two versions of Bootmii, boot2 and IOS. Bootmii boot2 is the one which loads when you start the wii, Bootmii IOS is the one you start through the HBC. Bootmii IOS is pretty much useless for brick recovery, but Bootmii boot2 does not work on all Wiis. Also, Bootmii IOS requires a GameCube controller.

I heard you can use the Wii console buttons with it.

Only Bootmii boot2.

Ahh, well I'm going to delete HBC. Then re-do Letterbomb
