I got one because I wanted one. I said it hasn't affected me in any way because people are saying they make you look stupid or something. As long as you don't get a ridiculously stupid one it's fine and no one really cares.

I see nothing wrong with it. I've had my ear pierced since I was a little kid, and people compliment me when I wear it. If you decide to, and don't like it, just don't wear it. Your hole will eventually close back up.
