Author Topic: Dr Smith - completely rebuilding team base without permission  (Read 2052 times)

He built it, gave people trust to build in it, did he not? I think you're overreacting.

he built the base for the TEAM. all of the team members built in the base. he destroyed everything they made and changed it without their permission.

it's a TEAM game. you can't just make a base for the team and abruptly destroy it.

That doesn't matter, he built it, and he has rights to do whatever he wants with it. If you want a base for your team that no one can abruptly destroy, then you gotta make it yourself

His bricks, his rules. if i make a helicopter spawn, and two idiots jump into my chopper and fly away i will respawn the chopper. i don't give a flying forget if they both fall to their death, it's my chopper and i'm going to do what i want with it. if i build a base on a server and it's proving to be difficult to defend i will rebuild it.

that is a terrible example.

in that scenario then sure you could respawn the helicopter. they jumped in without your permission.

however, dr smith made a base that the entire team loved and built in. he abruptly destroyed it because it had 3 entrances. everyone got mad and left.

It's not his problem that everyone got butthurt because he decided to make the base more strategically secure

He build it; he can do whatever he wants with his bricks. Thats like building a fort on fortwars, having people like it, and rebuilding it because the builder doesn't think it is good, and having everyone rage at him and the host banning him.

It's his problem for not asking the team first.

It's his problem for not asking the team first.
He built it, he has every right to do whatever he wants to do with it.

Okay, let me put it this way:
I'm your land lord. You're living in the house and loving it. I decide that the house isn't good looking and I tear it down without any notice beforehand. How would that make you feel?

That's completely different. That's property that you bought and you need it to live in.

The fort is completely his property, no one purchased it off of him. He has the right to do whatever he wants with it.

Why is it so hard to get this through your head

That's completely different. That's property that you bought and you need it to live in.
And we need the property for defense. But he abruptly deleted it, so while it was gone we were completely vulnerable.

No, it's not. It is the team's property. He built it for the team, and the team uses it. He could at least tell the team what he was doing beforehand.

That's why the host is supposed to make a build for the teams to defend in, because anyone who builds it that isn't the host has the right to delete it whenever he or she wants

No, it's not. It's not the team's property. He built it himself, he did not dedicate that build to the server, he has every right to do anything he wants to it whenever he wants

The whole point of the server is to cooperate and colonize a planet. Build a base, and defend it from attackers. Having the host build a base beforehand completely ruins the point.

It is the team property. He built it himself, yes, for the team. He did dedicate the build to the server, the whole point is a base for the team on the server. Sure, he has every right to make changes, but not a change like deleting the whole thing without permission.

You're so dense that you're literally graying my hair.

well in that case shell can ban him cause it's his server!!!!

in all seriousness he could've asked at the very least. just because it's "your bricks" and "you didn't like the build" does not mean you should just delete the collaborations of an entire team, even if you can.

badspot's quote of "might does not make right" comes into play here

just because you can clear an entire base that people use, it doesn't mean that you should.
