TV sucks because the shows I want to watch all run at time I can't watch them at (unless you pay for DVR) and anywhere between 15 and 20 minutes of a show is just advertising.
Netflix, youtube, vimeo, etc. provide a much better source of programming.
The only thing TV is good for is local news, and local news reporting tends to be pretty low quality anyway, when you compare it to newspaper or radio.
I guarantee that within the next 30 years cable will be dead and TV channels will be subscription based services over the Internet. You'll be able to watch live streams anywhere on your favorite iDevice and access a backlog of shows similar to netflix or hulu.
