willis tower (sears tower)
you're in/near chicago? i was there like a little over a week ago

OT: does the mississippi river count?

This is perhaps the most well-known landmark in my town.

In the area around where I live, there's very few that I would consider to be nationally well-known, and even less that would be globally well-known.

The Tamar Bridge is probably one of the most well-known landmarks for locals of my county, since it connects my county to Cornwall.

And then outside of my county, the two most iconic would have to be;

The Eden Project

And then Lands End.

If you go by state I'd say the Mall of America or the Mayo Clinic.
If you go by city, I'd say the first Target store is right across the street from me.
