Author Topic: [Blockoworld 2.0] Boom's Event Contraptions  (Read 1599 times)

Boom's been building some Event Contraptions for the upcoming Blockoworld 2.0. He has more contraptions than will fit in the Lobby, so he wants me to poll users to see which ones should be in the Lobby, and which ones should just be scattered across the Convention Center.

For those who don't know what these Event Contraptions are, here's the information on each one:

Boom Box

How To Use:
  • Click either of the equal signs on the stereo to advance through the various tracks.
  • Stand on the dance floor and shake it!

Checkers

How To Play:
  • Click on any cell to cycle through the Checker states. Use this to simulate checker movement.
  • Checker pieces may move diagonally in the direction they face at the beginning of the game.
  • Kings (double checkers) are attained when a checker reaches the opposite side of the board. Kings may move backwards.
  • You may capture pieces by passing over them diagonally into an empty space. You can perform many captures with one piece.

Objective:
  • Win the game by capturing all of your opponent's pieces.

Connect Four

How To Play:
  • Click the top plate on any column to drop a piece there. Pieces will always go to the lowest possible position
  • Take turns with an opponent and try to beat them!

Objective:
  • Be the first to connect four pieces in a row in any direction, including diagonal

Draw Pad

How To Play:
  • Click any color on the Color Pallette, then click any cell on the grid to change its color

Free-Throw Challenge

How To Play:
  • Once the game starts, Click and HOLD to increase your throw power. Release to shoot!

Objective:
  • Shoot the ball into the hoop!

Lights Out

How To Play:
  • Click any cell on the grid to flip its state along with the non-diagonally adjacent cells around it.
  • All cells have 2 states: Black and White.

Objective:
  • Turn all of the cells to a dark state.

Lights Out 2

How To Play:
  • Thought you had what it took to beat the original game? Then this is for you.
  • Click any cell on the grid to cycle through its states along with the non-diagonally adjacent cells around it.
  • All cells have 3 states: Black, White, and Gray.

Objective:
  • Turn all of the cells to the final, black state
  • This puzzle remains unsolved. If you solve it, let me know!

Reversi

How To Play:
  • Click on any cell to cycle through the Orthello states. Use this to simulate your moves.
  • Pieces are captured and turned to your color when a newly placed piece sandwiches pieces of the other color.
  • All moves MUST capture pieces. If you can't, your turn is skipped
  • The game ends when neither player can make a legal move, or the board is full

Objective:
  • Win the game by having the most pieces at the end of the game

Romani Fortunes

How To Use:
  • Click on Romani to hear your fortune. Perhaps she'll tell you just what you need to know.

Speed Click Challenge

How To Play:
  • Once the game begins, click the green pad as fast as possible within the time limit
  • Multiple people can play at once, so grab a friend and beat the high score!

Objective:
  • The more times you click the pad, the more the Tower lights up. Try and light up the entire Tower!
  • Once you're able to easily light up the Tower, try to beat the high score!

Tower of Hanoi

How To Play:
  • Click the top Disk of any stack to move it to another stack.
  • Selected Disks will remain on the table to the side. You may only move one Disk at a time.

  • You cannot place a great valued Disk on a lesser valued Disk.

Objective:
  • Move all Disks to the right most column

Objective:
  • Capture the most boxes at the end of the game

Alright! I know it's quite a bit to take in, but please go over everything before voting.

Currently everything is being hosted on my Blockoworld Server. If you want to check out any of these games, join my server.

Know that you'll need your ID to be approved, as Blockoworld hasn't opened yet, so only Slot Holders will be able to join the server. However, Boom will be hosting his own server for those who aren't allowed on my server yet.

Feel free to discuss the various Event Contraptions in this thread. If you think an Event Contraption could be improved somehow, or has something wrong with it, let me know! Boom is also open to any suggestions or requests for new contraptions.

For the most up to date version of this thread, go here. You can also reach Boom there. However, he'll be reading this thread too.

Just wondering, is the free throw ball a private mod, because I made a working basketball game a year or two ago, and only needed a ball with good physics.

Objective:
  • Turn all of the cells to the final, black state
  • This puzzle remains unsolved. If you solve it, let me know!
I solved it.

I solved it.
clap clap clap. You win.

Also I was thinking of doing something along these lines.

No its just an event contraption made with VCE, not a mod, it uses the default ball projectile which I forgot it's name. Atleast I think....

Why all those contraptions are so simple?

What about that whole pong game? I would love to see that in Blockoworld.

Why all those contraptions are so simple?

Go beat Lights Out 2 and than we can talk about how simple they are.

Walls and Connect Four are my two favorites, but I also think the others are mighty swell!

I remember you did a football one too right?

Nexus made a mouse clicking loop with his server commands gui. It failed to defeat the button mashing maniac admin of the server though. It seems man has won the battle against machine again.

No its because there is a hard limit of 128 clicks that can can be performed by one person in the time given.

If you are on a team of people, use this to find out your efficiency:

100 * (team score / (128 * Number of people)) %
